Top tips for caring for your hair from trichologist Jennie Roberts

“The most important part about taking care of your hair is a simple and consistent cleansing and conditioning routine. Curly/coily textured hair needs more moisture than straight hair. Find suitable

products that fulfil your expectations and needs.

1. A good cleanser is a must. This is how hydration is delivered and locked into our hair.

2. Conditioner aids detangling and manageability whilst delivering lots of hydration for smoothing and softening.

3. A hair mask a few times a month can be beneficial to smooth the cuticle and add extra hydration, helping with flexibility to avoid breakage. No matter the texture these 3 steps should be maintained for healthy hair.”

A step-by-step guide on how to use gels

Step 1:

Cleanse and condition hair as recommended by Jennie.

Step 2:

Whilst still damp or wet, apply a leave-in conditioner prior to the gel to ensure moisture and nourishment are locked into your hair.

Step 3:

Determine the style you are going for, the gel is perfect for sleek buns, ponytails, wash and-go styles or to refresh and redefine curls between wash days.

When going for a wash-and-go, apply the gel in sections over your entire hair and finger coil or use a brush for the best curl definition. For other styles, only apply the gel on the sections that need styling.
