book an eye test
What is an eye test?
When you have an eye test, your eyes will be examined by a trained professional optician who can determine whether you need to start wearing glasses or need to change your prescription. They can also help to recognise eye conditions, changes in your vision, and detect underlying health problems as well as any general issues you may have with your eyes.
Why should I have an eye test
Having an eye test looks at how clearly you can see, whether you need any extra support with your long or short vision and how healthy your eyes are. Regular eye tests can help to prevent potential eye problems before they develop and identify common health problems such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
How often do you have an eye test
It’s recommended that adults should have an eye test every two years because eyes change over time. It’s also advisable to book an eye test if you’re experiencing any signs of presbyopia, which is the gradual loss of your eyes’ ability to focus on nearby objects. It's important to get your child's eyes tested regularly too, find out more here.
What will happen in my eye test?
They will normally ask you questions around your lifestyle and whether you have had any problems with your eyes or general health. Find out more here.

Advanced eye test explained
Let’s add a new dimension to your eye test!
What is it?
An OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) is an advanced eye scan that helps us understand the different layers of your retina. It only takes a couple of minutes, but it can tell us lots of useful information about your eyes & your overall health
What are the benefits?
Did you know that your eyes can be indicators of your overall health? An OCT scan can analyse this in closer detail & can even help detect underlying conditions such as diabetes, age-related macular degeneration & more
Many eye health conditions are only noticeable when they’re advanced, so by undergoing an OCT scan you can discover conditions early & manage them before they get worse

optomap® eye scan
Our optomap eye scan gives our most comprehensive view of your eye health, which alongside our eye tests & OCT scans can help to detect a number of health conditions.
What is it?
An optomap eye scan is essentially a photograph of the back of the eye (retina). Optomap captures up to 82% of the retina in one view, compared to 15% with traditional eye tests, giving the optometrist a more in-depth view of your eye sight & eye health.
What are the benefits?
• It helps to protect your sight & eye health
• It's quick & painless
• It's suitable for patients of all ages
• It allows you to see a view of your retina in 3D animation
The eye is the only place where your blood vessels can be viewed directly & these blood vessels can provide important information about your overall health.
Remember: You don't have to book for this in advance, just ask on the day of your appointment. Please note, optomap is only available in selected stores. Ask your store for more details
