University life is busy – from early morning lectures through to late night parties, it’s hard to find the time to spend on doing your hair, especially when it feels like you’re always in a rush. But don’t worry; you don’t need tons of time and effort to make a big statement with your locks. A pop of colour can work wonders, and you don’t need to visit a salon – you can do it all from your own bathroom in a matter of minutes.
Check out our handy how-to video on how to achieve the perfect back-to-uni hairstyle in under 5 minutes.
Step 1 – Roll with it
Sleep in a few medium rollers the night before. This will give your hair some volume and style without having to take the time to use straighteners or curling wands. Use as many or as few as you want, depending on how big and bouncy you want your look to be. Remove the rollers in the morning.
Step 2 – Add some oomph
Use a volumising hairspray at the roots for some added oomph, and to help hold your style in place throughout the day. The Batiste Stylist Oomph My Locks XXL Volume Spray has some serious staying power!
Step 3 – Brush it off
Brush through your hair to separate any curls and give it a more natural, ‘unfinished’ look. We used the Tangle Teezer Compact Styler for super smooth, knot-free hair – it comes in loads of colours and it’s just the right size for your handbag, too.
Step 4 – Go colour crazy
Put a towel around your shoulders - it’s time to colour! Spray the ends of your hair with temporary colour, using as much or as little as you want to get your desired shade. The L’Oréal Colorista range has some great 1-day wash-out sprays for no-commitment, on-trend fun. They come in a range of bright or pastel shades, so pick the one that matches your mood for the day - after all, you can always go for something else tomorrow!
