Vitamin D has a number of functions in the body. It is essential for the proper functioning of the immune system, maintains healthy bones and teeth, supports muscle function, helps regulate calcium and phosphate metabolism, and is involved in cell division. Vitamin K2 (MK-7) has the highest bioavailability. It has been shown to play an important role which has a positive effect on bone health. In addition, vitamin D helps to maintain normal blood calcium levels and the optimal utilisation of calcium and phosphorus (an adequate supply of vitamin D increases calcium absorption by about 30-40% and phosphorus absorption by about 80%).
