What is Levitra?

Levitra is a prescription-only medicine that contains vardenafil, and is used to help treat the symptoms of erectile dysfunction (ED). If you’re sexually stimulated, it can help you to get and maintain an erection hard enough for sex. It won’t help with ED if you’re not aroused.

How does Levitra work?

Levitra, like Viagra and other oral ED medication, improves the blood flow to your penis, helping you get and maintain an erection. It doesn’t increase your sex drive, so don’t use it as an aphrodisiac as you won’t become aroused by simply taking it. You’ll need to become sexually aroused for the medication to work. Levitra’s effect can last between four and five hours, meaning that if you’re aroused you should be able to get an erection hard enough for sex within this period of time.

Who is Levitra suitable for?

Levitra tablets are intended for use by men aged 18 or over who have ED symptoms.
You shouldn’t take Levitra if you:
•    Recently had a stroke or heart attack
•    Have a heart or liver problem
•    Are allergic to vardenafil or any other ingredients used in this medicine

Some medicines can also interact with Levitra. Don’t take Levitra if you’re also currently taking nitrates used for chest pain, such as glyceryl trinitrate, as combining these with Levitra can lead to severely low blood pressure.

You can view the Levitra patient information leaflet for a full list of who can’t take Levitra. Before prescribing you Levitra, an online clinician or a GP will always check to make sure that the medicine is suitable for you.

How do I access Levitra?

Levitra is a prescription-only medication, so it isn’t available over the counter. It is available through the Boots Erectile Dysfunction Online Clinic, which allows you access to a variety of different prescription-only oral treatments for ED.

To access ED medicines through our online clinic, you’ll have to complete an online questionnaire which will ask you questions about your health and any medication you’re currently taking. This is designed to determine whether or not oral ED medicines are suitable for you.

One of our clinicians will review your answers and, if the ED medication is suitable for you, you’ll be able to pick up the prescription from your local participating Boots pharmacy. If you prefer, the prescription can be discreetly sent to an address of your choice with free postage. Treatment is subject to availability and clinician approval. Charges apply.

Even if you decide to treat ED by using our online clinic, make sure you see your doctor to discuss your erectile dysfunction symptoms. Sometimes ED can be caused by an underlying health issue, such as diabetes or heart disease, so it’s important that your GP can check you out.

How do I take Levitra tablets?

You should take your prescribed Levitra tablet with a glass of water between 25 and 60 minutes before you plan to have sex. Levitra can be taken with or without food, but it may take longer for the effects to kick in if you take the tablet with a high-fat meal.

Similarly, drinking grapefruit juice or eating grapefruit can interact with how well the medication works, so steer clear of both when taking the tablet. You should avoid drinking alcohol when taking Levitra, as doing this can affect your ability to get an erection.

Always make sure you take the medicine exactly as prescribed. Never take more than one Levitra tablet a day.

What are the strengths of Levitra?

The strengths available through our Boots Erectile Dysfunction Online Clinic are 5mg, 10mg and 20mg.

If you’re considering Levitra for the first time, you’ll be able to
