Don’t let aftercare become an afterthought

It’s not just about eating your carrots – there are plenty of other things you can do to help keep your eyes in tip-top condition.

Make sure you’re protecting your peepers by keeping up-to-date with your contact lens aftercare appointments.

What's an aftercare appointment?

Like regular eye tests, aftercare appointments allow your optician to keep a close eye (pardon the pun) on the quality of your vision and the health of your eyes.

These all-important appointments last up to 30 minutes and allow your optician to:

• Check your vision

• Check how your lenses fit

• Check whether you find your lenses comfortable

• Flag any underlying eye problems

• Offer treatment or advice if you’re experiencing dry or itchy eyes

• Suggest switching to a different type of contact lens

Remember, you’ll need to wear your contact lenses to the appointment and bring your glasses with you.

How often do I need an aftercare appointment?

When it comes to aftercare, there’s no one-size-fits-all.

Visits will vary from person to person depending on your lens type and eye condition. Speak to your optician to find out about your personal aftercare.
