For the 3 million people living with cancer in the UK, we understand that during these uncertain times, being able to access trusted information and support is more important than ever.
With approximately 250,000 people living with cancer shielding, and many more unable to access the support usually available to them, having someone to turn to for advice - from the comfort of their own home - can help relieve anxieties that some may have about living with cancer, or supporting someone with cancer.
Here at Boots, we are delighted to introduce video call appointments with a Boots Macmillan Information Pharmacist (BMIP). All video consultations are free and provided through a safe and secure platform called LIVI Connect, all you need to attend your appointment is access to a smartphone and the internet. Appointment times typically last around 10-15 minutes. It is advised that you check with your service provider on local data charges if you do not have WIFI access.
Our Boots Macmillan Information Pharmacists
Our Boots Macmillan Information Pharmacists are Boots Pharmacists who have received extra training from Macmillan Cancer Support, to enable them to support you if you are living with cancer. Our BMIPs are also here to help you support those close to you who may be affected by cancer.
Boots Macmillan Information Pharmacists can help with:
• Understanding the different types of cancers, diagnosis and treatments
• Answering any questions you may have about medication, or potential side effects
• Providing advice about lifestyle and the effects of cancer
• Guiding you to more specialist information and support
