Viagra Connect
Myth: Viagra Connect can improve loss of sex drive and premature ejaculation.
Truth: Viagra Connect helps men with erectile dysfunction (ED) get and keep an erection hard enough for sex. It’s not an aphrodisiac. It won’t treat conditions such as premature ejaculation, however, treating the ED may prevent you from ejaculating too early as your confidence in maintaining an erection improves. If you are living with any other sexual health problem, speak to your GP or a pharmacist.
Myth: Viagra Connect can give you a constant erection for up to four hours.
Truth: Although this can be a rare side effect when taking Viagra Connect, your erection will subside after sex. Viagra Connect helps men with erectile dysfunction get and keep a hard enough erection for sexual intercourse. The amount of time Viagra Connect takes to work varies from man to man, but it normally takes between 30 and 60 minutes. You can take it up to four hours before sexual activity. If you do get an erection that lasts for more than four hours and is painful, seek medical help immediately.
Myth: Viagra Connect can improve my sexual performance even if I don’t have erectile dysfunction.
Truth: Viagra Connect is intended for men who are unable to achieve or maintain an erection suitable for sex. This is the only purpose for which it has been approved. Men who don’t have erectile dysfunction symptoms, but feel they need help with performance, may benefit from talking to their GP, a counsellor, or their partner about ways to make sex more satisfying.
Erectile dysfunction
Myth: Erectile dysfunction is only a problem for men aged 60 or over.
Truth: While erectile dysfunction does become more common as men get older, it can affect men of all ages and 4.3 million men in the UK live with it.*
Myth: Erectile dysfunction is a reflection of masculinity or sex drive.
Truth: Erectile dysfunction has nothing to do with masculinity. It can occur as a result of medical conditions, such as high blood pressure or diabetes.
Myth: Erectile dysfunction is all in your head.
Truth: While erectile dysfunction can sometimes develop because of psychological issues, such as stress or anxiety, it’s most often caused by physical health conditions that reduce blood flow to the penis.
Myth: Erectile dysfunction has nothing to do with other health problems.
Truth: Erectile dysfunction can happen because of physical or psychological conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, depression, surgery for prostate cancer or injuries to the spinal cord.
If you are living with erectile dysfunction, talk to a pharmacist or make an appointment with your GP to discuss your general health.
