Boots Haemorrhoid Relief Suppositories contain a local anaesthetic, lidocaine, to relieve the pain and discomfort of haemorrhoids (also known as piles). It also contains allantoin which helps healing.
Suitable for
Adults and children aged 12 years and above.
Age Restriction
You must be at least 16 years old to purchase this product.
How to use
Please read the enclosed leaflet carefully before use.
Check the blister is not broken before use. If it is, do not use that suppository.
Wash hands thoroughly before and after inserting the suppository.
Remove the protective film.
Adults & children 12 years and over: If possible empty bowels before use. Gently insert one suppository deep into the rectum morning and night and after each bowel movement.
Use only in the rectum.
Do not swallow the suppository.
Do not use for children under 12 years.
Do not use this medicine for more than 7 days, unless your doctor tells you to.
If symptoms do not go away within 7 days talk to your doctor.
If anyone accidentally swallows a suppository: Talk to a doctor straight away.
Hazards and Cautions
Do not use:
- If you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
Talk to your pharmacist or doctor:
- If you have a continuous pain or bleeding from the anus, a change in bowel habit, a swollen stomach or have lost weight without trying.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Possible side effects
Most people will not have problems, but some may get some.
If you get any of these serious side effects, stop using the suppositories. See a doctor:
- Allergic reactions (e.g. skin rash, redness or itchy skin)
If you get any of the following side effects, see your pharmacist or doctor:

Storage
Store at or below 25°C
Keep all medicines out of the reach and sight of children.
Use by the date on the side panel of the carton.

This is a medicine;
- Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have an underlying medical condition, are taking any other medication or complementary therapy, or if symptoms persist.
- Seek advice before using if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, breastfeeding or if you suffer from allergies.
