Talking Nurses - a friendly voice when you're in a foreign land

Talking Nurses is a telephone-based service available to all Boots Travel Insurance policyholders. It gives you access to medical advice from qualified nurses, with doctor support if required, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Covering your health on holiday

Our multilingual team are on hand 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, should you require emergency medical treatment on your holiday. They can help you to understand the treatment you require and will work with the team in the hospital to help make sure everything happens smoothly, without you having to worry about it. And in most cases, we’ll settle the bill directly with the hospital. Don’t forget, before you travel to visit our pharmacy team in store who will give you the right advice to help you prepare for a healthy holiday.

No cover is provided under these policies for any trip in, to or through: Afghanistan, Cuba, Liberia or Sudan.

To apply for Boots Travel Insurance:

You must have your main home in the UK and have a UK National Insurance number and be registered with a medical practitioner in the UK at the time you buy your policy.

You must be aged under 75 for City Break and Single Trip cover, under 70 for Multi Trip cover, or under 35 for Gap Year cover. If you are under 18 or require travel insurance for over 65s you will need to call 0845 125 3830 to arrange your travel cover. If you are 75 years of age or older you may be able to obtain an alternative travel insurance policy by contacting: British Insurance Brokers Association: www.biba.org.uk, tel: 0870 950 1790 (lines open 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday). Calls may be recorded for training and quality purposes.

Kids go free with Boots

Kids are covered free of charge when you buy a Boots Family Travel Insurance Policy.

When purchasing a Family Policy, you must provide details of the qualifying children to be covered. Children will be covered subject to the terms and conditions of the Boots Travel Insurance Policy. Kids are defined as being children, step children, foster children or adopted children of you or your spouse or partner (as long as you and your partner live together). These children must be aged under 18 at the date you buy the Policy and either in full time education or living with you or your spouse/partner.

There is no limit to the number of children who can be covered free of charge, provided these children meet the criteria above.

Important information

Travel insurance is available for UK residents who are under 65 years of age. As with any insurance there are certain exclusions, including claims due to a medical condition or illness that was known about at the time of taking out your policy or booking your trip whichever is later. Cover is not provided for travel to or through Afghanistan, Cuba, Liberia and Sudan or areas where the Foreign and Commonwealth Office have advised against all but essential travel.
