Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation
Okay girls, listen up...I too was on the hunt for the perfect oil control, mattifying foundation, but not anymore! I have very oily skin which I always have to blot, usually every 3 hours. I have been a Smashbox user for almost 3 years now, and am glad they came out with this foundation. I have light to medium skin with yellow undertones, with redness in my cheeks and mild acne (two or three pimples to cover). I got the 2.1 thinking it would be too light at first, but the 2.2 was too pink, so I went with the tad bit too light. If you are thinking of getting this foundation, go lighter because it will oxidize a little. I start with a clean face, no moisturizer, just bare face (except I use eye cream). I mix the Photo Finish Primer Light with a tiny bit of Photo Finish Targeted Pore Minimizer, about half of a pea size for my whole face, I pat it onto my skin concentrating on Tzone and cheeks, and smooth out. Be warned, if you apply too much you will get streaks, just wipe the extra with a tissue before you apply your makeup. I then apply Studio Skin foundation with either a foundation brush (two pumps) for more coverage, or fingers (one pump) for a lighter day time look. I then conceal any acne and discolorations with an acne treatment concealer. I then lightly dust Halo Hydrating Powder, in light, all over my face. The color is perfect! I apply the rest of my makeup, then finish with the Photo Set Finishing Powder. I only apply a tiny bit, dip a large powder brush and tap off any excess, and I stipple it on my skin, patting my face with the brush, on my Tzone and cheeks. This may seem like a lot of steps, but the whole process only takes me about 10 minutes in the morning. I love the way my skin looks now, and I'm pushing 40! Even my husband noticed my face is "not as shiny". Now I just wish Smashbox would create a skin care line! I'm already hooked as it is, but then I'd only have to shop one brand. I highly recommend Smashbox, and trust me, I've tried them ALL over the years!

I have been using a different premium brand, full coverage foundation for many years to cover redness in my cheeks but over the last year or so the brand I used stopped making the two lightest shades in that range (which were the ones I used to use) and the new lightest shade was a bit warm for me (I have very fair skin aside from the red cheeks ; ). I therefore decided to try something else for a change and as the Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear was listed as giving moderate to full coverage decided to give it a go. I opted for the second lightest shade 1.2 (ordered online) but when it arrived I thought I'd made a big mistake as the colour of the foundation in the bottle looked even darker than my Repairwear foundation but although disappointed thought I'd give it a try anyway. Was so glad I did. After a few minutes of application the shade lightened on my skin and so was much lighter than in the bottle. The coverage was also great and whilst a light feeling foundation covered very well and did indeed last all day. Also, the colour stayed true and did not darken or go orangey, did not give me a shiny nose or cake into my eyelids half way through the day as my other foundation sometimes did so was very very pleased. I used Smashbox Studio Skin foundation over my normal moisturiser and did not use a primer. I would recommend this foundation to anyone who wants to cover skin discolouration well but not look like they are wearing a heavy foundation.

I bought this product after reading many reviews on the smashbox website hoping it would give me a flawless longlasting look, however this was not the case.
It was very thick and heavy to apply and very hard to get an even coverage when using a foundation brush. It also sank into pores after a few hours leaving my skin looking very patchy, uneven and cakey. I dont think it is worth the money I paid for it at all.
