Salon Science Hydrafoliant Scalp Scrub AquaCacteen 100ml 3.2 5 6 6
Lovely weekly treatment Scalp exfoliation is the latest trend in haircare, and this is a purpose-designed scalp treatment. It comes in a tube with a small nozzle, and the idea is that you apply it directly to the wet scalp before rubbing in and leaving for up to fifteen minutes before washing out. It's lovely and scrubby, and leaves my scalp feeling wonderful. I do find it a little tricky to apply to myself - it's a bit like dying your own hair, what with opening partings and the rest of it - but it's easy to rub in once you've applied it. I do find it a bit of a bind to remove: you have to be careful to ensure you've washed all the grains out, for example, as it's quite tenacious. That said, it's well-worth using - it seems to banish flakes and remove all itchiness for long after use. My scalp has never been so comfortable and flake-free. August 27, 2014
A good idea I've read several articles on the benefits of hair scrubs recently, but mostly as an aid to thorough cleansing and removal of a build-up of hair products. It therefore makes sense that a scrub would be equally effective at removing dandruff and I have to agree that while it works, it's a little tricky in practice. My first impression of this product is that the bottle, with it's precise nozzle for application directly to the scalp, makes it really difficult to squeeze the product out with wet hands (I think it would be easier if it came in a tub). Getting it to the roots given my thick hair was annoyingly difficult. Also, it has to be left on the scalp for 5-10 mins, which is a little inconvenient. On the plus side, it's only very lightly scented and it really did eliminate my dandruff, so I shall continue to use this weekly, though I may cut the bottle open and decant it into a small jar. Fiddly to use, but a reasonably effective treatment This treatment product was fiddly to use, as even with the nozzle it was difficult to target the scalp through the hair. I did like the idea of exfoliating a flaky, troublesome scalp in this way, and the product washed away easily after application. My hair was left in good condition and I did think that the treatment provided some improvement in my scalp. I used this alongside complimentary products from the Salon Science scalp relief range, and although they did not eliminate my troublesome psoriasis, they certainly helped to calm a very distressed scalp, giving cooling comfort. In addition they did not fade out my bright red hair colour, as some scalp treatments have done in the past. September 12, 2014
