Heaven Fresh HF-60 Car Air Purifier
My car was previously owned by a smoker. The dealer fogged teh car to remove the odour but this wore off after a couple of months. Searching for a solution, some of which were quite expensive(!) I came across this fab little product. Small enough to be unobtrusive, but powerful enough to make a real difference to the atmosphere in the car. The air really does smell cleaner. Excellent

Rugged case. Product does what it says. Not bad for a free gift!
Got this car purifier as a free gift from Boots when I bought the HF 758 humidifier.
The unit is shaped like a spectacle case and feels rugged and of high quality, however the colour of grey is not a good choice. On sunny days, the case (along with the white Heaven Fresh logo) reflect annoyingly on the windscreen. Not very safe in my opinion - matt black would have been a much wiser choise here, as the colour black absorbs all coloured light, thereby eliminating all reflections.
Another downside is the fact that the power indicating LED and the ON/OFF switch are on the left hand side of the unit, meaning you can't see at a quick glance if the unit is active or not. (Not a problem for LHD cars though...)
The instruction manual describes how to clean the unit every 2 months, but it fails to mention a phillipsscrew hidden by a label under the unit, which must be removed before opening the cover.
Also, the picture of the purifier on the product box is incorrect. The 6 circular holes must face towards the interior of the vehicle, and not towards the windscreen as depicted in the photo.
The cigarette-lighter plug has a 1amp fuse fitted along with a green LED, which are both nice touches.
The manual states to unplug the device from the 12-volt cigarrette socket when the vehicle engine is running at low speeds for an extended period, to prevent damage resulting from sudden voltage surges from the battery during low load conditions. I found this statement a little strange... how hard would it have been to include a cheap and small 12v regulator such as the 3-pin 7812 IC in the circuitry?
When the device is working there is a pleasant smell (I'm guessing this smell will only last while the device is new), and there is a faint purple glow from the 6 HV needles. You can feel the slight ionic breeze with your hand too.
Aside from the minor design glitches mentioned above, my hayfever does seem better, and I do feel fresher after long car journeys (on saying that, I fitted an anti-static strap to my car around the same time, so it could be the combination of the two.)
Once again, not bad for something I got for free.
