What is Boots Stop Smoking Clinic for?

If you already have a prescription from your GP we can dispense it, either at your local Boots pharmacy, or via our online prescription service.

What results can I expect?
You’re more likely to stop smoking if you’re sufficiently motivated to do so. According to research, prescription medicine can help double or even triple your chances of stopping smoking.
The usual course of treatment lasts 12 weeks but some people may need longer to help them stop smoking for good.
Boots offers a number of options to help you stop smoking.
- One-to-one advice and information - The NHS Stop Smoking service is available at a number of locations including selected Boots stores and may suit you if you prefer a structured approach to help you stop smoking**
- Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) - Boots sells several different types of NRT products such as gum, patches, nasal sprays and inhalators online and in store. A member of your local Boots pharmacy team can help you decide which stop smoking option may be suitable for you
- Prescription medication - There are two prescription medicines available to help stop smoking: Champix and Zyban. This clinic can give you access to Champix without a prescription from your doctor. For Zyban, you’d need a prescription from your GP before you can get the medicine from Boots
