Boots Travel Insurance is not enforcing the policy exclusion relating to the Civil Aviation Authority delaying your departure. We are therefore able to offer cover for customers who purchased policies on or before 21st May 2011, under the Delayed travel or Abandoning your trip sections of your policy.
For policyholders who have purchased a policy since 13th April 2011 and purchased also the optional Natural Catastrophe cover then cover is also offered under this section.
Please check your policy document for exact details.
For those policyholders waiting to go on holiday it means that they may be able to recover the costs of their trips or journeys that would not otherwise be recoverable from another source such as the airlines, tour operators, hotels etc.
For those stranded abroad it means they too may claim an amount dependant on the length of delay, for reimbursement towards, for example, additional accommodation costs. Please be advised that where your holiday cannot be completed within the intended period of insurance, cover will be extended at no extra cost for up to 30 days.
Valid claims made under policies purchased on or before 21st May 2011 when the event began will be paid and normal limits and conditions will apply. These may vary between different types of policy so customers are advised to check their policies.
