Information & Advice
The spring/summer runways were immersed in super-cool, ocean-fresh shades of seafoam green and pistachio with high profile appearances at Lanvin and Donna Karan. Wear them as a delicate wash of colour over your eyelids. Try a lightweight eyeshadow formula like Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-place ShadowCreme in Precious Jade for a brightening, wide-eyed effect.
"These hues make a statement by themselves, so team this look with barely-there make up," says Bourjois make up artist Cassie Lomas, who recommends keeping skin clean and healthy-looking with Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum.
Girly goes grown-up with this ultra-wearable array of lavender and lilac hues as seen at Fendi and 3.1 Phillip Lim. "Lilac looks great with most colours so you can't really go wrong," says Cassie. If you're looking to add a bit of edge to the trend, there's room to toughen up. How? "Try a smoky eye with a lilac lip. Be bold with whatever you team it with or it can end up looking wishy washy." Cassie also suggests a way to use lilac to update a timeless look. "Keep your lids light with a wash of colour and vamp up your lips with a classic red."
Sam Chapman is a fan of the look and suggests rocking pastel tones together. "I love is to mix pastels. If you're wearing the lilac trend, mix it up with a tangerine nail polish."

Not sold on the pastels trend? If you prefer your spring colours to sizzle, this is your new colour crush as championed by Alexander McQueen and Dior. "Tangerine looks great this season with a muted palette of browny tones - a light wash of neutrals over the eyes and cheeks will complement a juicy orange lip," says Cassie. Keep the look modern by opting for a creamy formula as shimmer-laden lipsticks can be ageing.
If a matte orange lippy is a step too far for you, there's still a chance to rock the trend, says Cassie. "For a wearable way to carry off the colour, stick to a satin sheen lippy like Bourjois Sweet Kiss Lipstick in Juicy Tangerine."
Punchy, playful and oh-so-wearable, this feverish hue rocked the runway at DKNY and Alberta Ferretti this season. If you're not clued up on this foolproof shade, now's the time to pay attention. "Raspberry lips are an instant slick of glamour," says Cassie. Choose a slick of cool-toned gloss, like Stila Lip Glaze in Bubblegum for subtle daywear or amp up the colour with a satin-finish lipstick like Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick in 7.
For maximum colour impact, Sam suggests wearing the shade against a nearly-natural complexion. "Go with complete fresh-faced beauty. Try a cream blusher and neutral eyeshadow to achieve a barely-there look that will suit this trend."
