How to Use

To Serve

Preparing your baby's feed. Failure to follow instructions on preparation and storage may make your baby ill. Wash hands well. Sterilise all utensils according to manufacturers' instructions. Shake SMA bottle, unscrew lid from bottle and remove the foil seal. Pour desired amount into your own sterilised bottle and add sterilised teat and cap. Replace lid onto the SMA bottle and refrigerate. Use remaining contents within 48 hours of opening. SMA Extra Hungry Infant Milk can be fed at room temperature. If required to heat, stand your baby's bottle in warm water. Before Feeding shake your bottle well. If warmed, test temperature by shaking a few drops of milk onto the inside of your wrist, milk should be lukewarm.

Important feeding information. Shake bottle well before use. Once open, reseal SMA bottle and store in the fridge for up to 48 hours. Throw away decanted feeds that have not been used within 2 hours. For older babies, ready to use SMA Extra Hungry Infant Milk can be mixed with food. Never add any food to the milk in your baby's bottle. Do not warm feeds in a microwave oven as this may cause uneven heating and could scald your baby's mouth. Remember, cows' milk should not be used as a drink during the first year. Do not refill or reuse.

Breastfeeding is best for babies. You should always seek the advice of a doctor, midwife, health visitor, public health nurse, dietitian or pharmacist on the need and proper method of use of infant milks and on all matters of infant feeding. Prolonged or frequent contact of drinks or feeds with the teeth increases the risk of tooth decay. Make sure your baby's teeth are cleaned after the last feed at night. Ask your healthcare professional or dentist for advice. Never leave your baby alone during feeding.
