A must have for all make up lovers As soon as I saw these in Boots yesterday I just HAD to buy them. I have seen them used on various make up tutorials but never seen them sold in shops before. I was so excited so I thought for my first go of them I would opt for the core collection. I have a slight obsession with acheiving the perfect skin using various different primers, foundation and powders. The fact that this set had the buffing brush included made it a easy buy for me. As soon as I got it home I was so excited to try it out and I have to say I was not disappointed. The only brush I haven't used and as of yet haven't been able to think of a use for is the foundation brush, its quite small so not sure if it would be suitable for putting on my foundation but the quality is fab and I am pretty confident that I will find a use for it. The brushes look lovely, they are free standing brushes as they have a flat base which could be quite useful, they have a nice shape to the handles and a nice gold design which in my opinion makes them look alot more pricey than they are, they also come with a brush case which doubles up as a stand. They look so good I would be proud to have them on show on my dressing table. First up the detailer brush is brilliant for concealer, it worked a treat covering up my unsightly blemishes, covering redness around my nose and getting rid of the dark circles under my eyes, its a fantastic quality brush and the size of the brush is ideal, the also say it can be used as a lip brush, I haven't tried this myself yet but can definitely see that it could work. Secondly the buffing brush I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS BRUSH, its just a gorgeous brush its so soft and blends foundation beautifully, it did go on flawlessly. I wanted to take my make up off and start again just because it made applying my make up a pleasure. Thats really sad I know :-) Third up is the countour brush. This brush is perfect for countouring and applying blusher, either powder or liquid/mousse blush. I used it for both and it looked amazing if I do say so myself. The shape is perfect for getting an accurate application and makes it so easy to do your make up even for a complete beginner. Again for the foundation brush I haven't used so wouldn't like to give an opinion until I have but it does seem to be a good little brush. Overall these brushes are fab, theres a certain brand of brushes that I know most people will have heard of which run for about this same price for 1 brush and I definitely think that these brushes do show that you can get the same quality for a fraction of the price. For anyone interested in make up I would recommend taking a chance on these brushes, I honestly don't think you will be disappointed. 08 February 2012
Ideal starter kit for base I have owned these brushes since August and use them every day. I have changed my make up from liquid to mineral and back again, and for everything I use these brushes achieve a great result. The buffing brush is the best I've found for foundation, and I have noticed it has been featured in several pixiwoo makeup tutorials for that recently. The pointed foundation brush is ideal for liquid concealer and the contour brush works well to powder/blend concealer around the eyes/nose/mouth, as well as to contour or highlight. I usually use the detailer brush to conceal blemishes, but find it also works for applying lip colour or for naturally defining brows. My brushes are still in great shape and have survived many a wash, they dry really quickly and the case is great too. Highly recommend this entire range! 09 February 2012
