Singing and style sensations the Sugababes - Amelle, Keisha and Heidi - share their beauty secrets

Singing and style sensations the Sugababes – Amelle, Keisha and Heidi – share their beauty secrets

What’s your fail-safe party look?

Heidi: ‘I love red lipstick and sparkly eye make-up.’
Amelle: ‘I know what suits my figure, so I’ll wear a pencil skirt or high-waisted jeans. As for make-up, I like a flick of liquid eyeliner.’
Keisha: ‘I often go for black. Something like a short, black polo-neck dress with
black tights. It’s so simple, you can’t go wrong.’

Which beauty products do you always carry in your clutch bag?

Amelle: ‘A mirror, lipgloss, eyeliner and blusher. I don’t know how people can
go out with only a tiny bag.’
Keisha: ‘Definitely face powder – I hate being shiny – plus blusher and lipgloss.
I usually carry perfume with me, too.’
Heidi: ‘I really like Christian Dior Bronze Blush at the moment. It has four shades
in it, so I use it as a blusher, bronzer, highlighter and eyeshadow.’

What beauty product can’t you live without?

Amelle: ‘To protect my hair and keep it frizz-free, I use Shockwaves Styling Plus Gloss Serum. I still recall my first mascara, which was by Rimmel.’
Keisha: ‘I’m wearing Britney Spears’ Midnight Fantasy.’
Heidi: ‘I love using body moisturisers and my favourite is No7 Silky Leg Oil – it’s brilliant.’

To get the girls’ look…

Heidi: To make the most of her pale complexion and gorgeous blonde hair, Heidi loves wearing bright red lipstick and sparkly eye make-up. Try No7 Moisture Drench Lipstick in Dare Devil and 17 Glitter Eyeshadow in Style Queen.
Keisha: The singer loves Ruby & Millie Loose Powder, which comes in six shades so suits any skin tone, including black. She keeps her look glowing with a sweep of a blusher. Go for a soft, rosy pink like No7 Blush Tint Cream Blush in Blossom.
Amelle: Amelle likes a flick of striking eyeliner to complement her olive skin. Take a look at Max Factor Masterpiece Glide & Define Liquid Eyeliner in Black.

How did the relationship with Boots and the White Ribbon Alliance come about?

Keisha: The original Ernie K Doe version was used in the Boots television adverts, and when Boots found out we’d recorded Girls they suggested we work together to support the White Ribbon Alliance. Once we met up with the people behind it and learnt about the work we realised what an incredible cause it is and wanted to help raise awareness in any way we could.

Did you enjoy making the video?

Amelle: It was hard work. We danced for hours at a time, and only got a few 20-minute breaks, so our feet were practically on fire.
Keisha: There was no choreography, we were just told to dance. I asked my boyfriend to appear in the video so I could sing my verse to him. At first he was too embarrassed. But then I told him if I didn’t sing to him, it would be one of the male dancers instead. He soon changed his mind.

Do you have a signature scent?

Keisha: I normally wear Dior Addict, but I love Britney Spears' fragrances, too. I think Britney and Paris Hilton do the best celebrity fragrances. During the day, I go for light, floral scents, and prefer something sexier for the evening.
Amelle: I change what I wear according to my mood. Jo Malone Blue Agava & Cacao is my favourite right now, but I also wear Vera Wang Princess, Dolce & Gabanna The One, and I’ve worn Emporio Armani Classic since I was a teenager.
Heidi: My mum gave me Victor & Rolf Flowerbomb for my birthday in May and I’ve been using it ever since.

What’s your dream gift and do you enjoy shopping for presents for other people?

Amelle: I actually prefer buying presents. I never think about what I want people to buy for me.
Heidi: I like buying presents, too. There’s nothing better than getting a gift for someone you know they’ll love. I usually spend the most on my boyfriend (TV presenter Dave Berry), mum and sister. I get carried away.
Keisha: I’d like a new house. I’m trying to find one at the moment. A lovely white fluffy rug to go in it would be good. And a Nintendo Wii.
Amelle: Yes, I’d like a Nintendo Wii, too.
