Perfect for Christmas day with the family, this classic look is just right to carry you from opening the presents to your evening get-together.

What's the Look?

This gorgeous look calls for a subtle, nude palette. Neutral hues are chic and universally flattering, creating a pretty, polished look that's guaranteed to impress this Christmas.

How to Do It
  1. Sophisticated make up looks best with a velvety matte complexion, so opt for a long-lasting formula to keep shine at bay. Try Nº7 Stay Perfect Foundation Compact
  2. Create killer cheekbones by applying a dusky pink cream blusher such as Estée Lauder Signature Cream Blush in Berry Light to cheekbones, blending well with your fingertips. Darker skins suit pinks with a hint of gold.
  3. Groomed brows are essential for a polished look. Add definition with a soft eyebrow pencil or powder that matches your hair colour – black eyebrows tend to stand out when teamed with blonde hair. Try Ruby & Mille Brow Colour Duo.
  4. Sweep a powder eyeshadow in a barely-there vanilla shade such as Clarins Single Eye Colour in Vanilla Beige over eyelids, blending towards the brow bone, and follow with two coats of lengthening dark brown mascara – it creates a softer effect than black. Try Maybelline Define-a-Lash Volume Mascara in Brown.
  5. For a pretty pout, a super-shiny pink lipgloss is ideal. Boots recommends No7 High Shine Lipgloss in Lust.

Tip: Always look for a shade of foundation with the right base tones, and adapt it to suit you. Olive complexions look best with make up that has yellow undertones, pale skin suits foundations with pink tones and dark complexions should opt for make up with red undertones. Boots recommends No7 Instant Radiance Foundation and Max Factor Miracle Touch Foundation.

Complement the Look With...

An Audrey Hepburn-inspired, gently backcombed bun or chignon looks great at Christmas. Complete the look with a thick black ribbon tied into a bow at the nape of the neck and add a sparkly hair slide for a touch of subtle glamour.
