Jo is the founder of Jo Wood Organics (coming to in October), an established, highly regarded cosmetic line that combines ethical issues and chic glamour.

Her own journey into Organics began after she fell ill in 1990 and discovered that by switching to an all-organic diet her health and state of mind improved dramatically. Now a business woman and company director her products promote health and are carefully formulated from the world’s finest organic oils and plant extracts. A zest for life and a real sense of fun mean Jo adds an approachable and friendly glow to the world of Organics.

Jo and Ronnie Wood have been together for over 30 years and between them they have 4 children and 4 grandchildren. She has toured the world with Ronnie and the family since 1977 and is often seen travelling with her own portable cooker so she can make an organic meal wherever they are in the world. Jo and her family have lived in both New York and Los Angeles and are now firmly settled in the UK with homes in London and Co Kildare, Ireland.
1. What is your favourite ever beauty tip?

Always take your make up off before you go to bed. My mum told me that when I was younger and I have always done this ever since.  Your skin needs to breathe.

2. What 3 products could you not live without?

Jo Wood Organics Salt Scrub , Jo Wood Organics Body Oil in Usiku  and Face oil

3. What is your biggest beauty disaster?

I plucked my eyebrows far too thin in the 80's!

4. Describe your look 10 years ago

It's pretty much the same as it is now!

5. What has been your career highlight so far?

Launching my Jo Wood Organics bath and bodycare range.

6. What is your favourite celebrity look/ which celeb do you think has the best make-up?

7. If you weren't in the beauty industry, what would you be doing?

Painting sets for theatres.

8. What do you envisage being the 'next big thing' within beauty?

Everything will become more organic - it's so important to put pure products on your skin, consumers are becoming increasingly aware of the damages that chemicals can do to their skin and the enrivonment.

People are becoming more concious of what is going on in the environment, so it's important to have products that use renewable and sustainable ingredients and whose packaging is 100% recyclable.

I invisage that within 10 years, all luxury brands will use recycled material, but with the advance in technology, it won't appear to look any different.

9. What's the worst beauty myth you have ever heard and want to put straight?

Chemicals used in anti-aging creams make your skin 'look younger'.  I believe all you need is good sun protection to slow down the appearance of wrinkles, drink lots of water and plenty of moisturising with organic body products.

10. What is your opinion on natural and organic products?

They are very important because they contain no nasty chemicals which more and more people are becoming allergic to.  It is important that brands are certified to show that they are true and have not just jumped on the band wagon.  My products are certified by ECOCERT which means that everything is renewable and sustainable and has been approved by an independent European body.

As we say at Jo Wood Organics respect your your body and our Earth.
