Just because you don't wear glasses or contact lenses doesn't mean it isn't important to have your eyes checked. Find out more about the eye check service and products available at Boots Opticians.

An eye check isn't just to test your vision. It's also a good health check, as it can sometimes spot the signs of some other conditions, for example, diabetes or high blood pressure. It doesn't matter if you've never had an eye check before, or if you've never had an eye check with Boots Opticians, it's a good idea to have your eyes checked every two years.

How do I book an eye check?

What happens at an eye check?

Coming to Boots Opticians for an eye check is nothing to worry about and usually takes approximately 30 minutes. At the eye check you'll firstly provide information about your lifestyle and then you'll have your eyes checked by the Optometrist. After the eye check, the Optometrist will give you information and advice on the health of your eyes, and whether you will need a prescription to correct your vision. If you do, the Optometrist will give you further advice about the eyewear options available to suit your needs. This could be glasses, contact lenses, sunglasses or a combination of these options. You will also receive additional advice about how to keep your eyes healthy.

If you don't need a prescription the Optometrist will advise you when you should next have an eye check.

What happens if I need glasses or contact lenses?

If you come to Boots Opticians for an eye check and we find that you need a prescription, the Optometrist will tell you more about your eyesight and advise you on what lenses would be the best for you and your lifestyle.

You'll then have a Personal-Eyes consultation, which is our way of making sure that we work with you to find you the glasses that make you feel the most comfortable and confident.

If you wish to try contact lenses, then you can make an appointment for a Free Contact Lens Trial and Assessment, which will give you all the information you need to decide if contact lenses are the right option for you.

We also have a range of glasses and contact lens offers including the Contact Lens Reward Scheme, which enables you to have the contact lenses you choose delivered to you at home as well as half price glasses at Boots Opticians, 10 per cent discount on Boots brand products and Advantage Card points on your lens payments.

Once you've ordered your glasses, we'll let you know when they will be ready to collect. It usually takes between five to 10 days for them to arrive. When you come in to collect them we'll check that they're adjusted to fit you perfectly so you feel happy and confident about wearing them.

Don't forget that if you have any problems with your glasses or contact lenses or any concerns about your vision or eye health, you can come back to Boots Opticians anytime and we'll be happy to help you.
