Your right to cancel

In order to cancel your policy and obtain a refund please call us on 0845 125 3810 within 14 days of your cover starting or the date which you receive your policy documents, whichever date is later. Calls may be recorded for training and quality purposes.  We will refund all premiums paid within 30 days from the date you call us to request cancellation.

Please note:

If you are a single trip or city break policyholder we will not refund premiums if before your request for cancellation you have travelled or made a claim within the 14 day period.

If you are a multi trip or gap year policyholder and before your request for cancellation you have travelled or made a claim within the 14 day period, only a pro-rata amount of the premium will be refunded.

Country exclusions

No cover is provided under these policies for any trip in, to or through: Afghanistan, Cuba, Liberia or Sudan.

Your choice of law 

This insurance will be governed by Scottish Law if you live in Scotland and the law of England and Wales if you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, unless we agree otherwise. 

Know before you go

Important information if you will be motor cycling during your trip

Boots Travel Insurance will cover you while using a two-wheeled motor vehicle provided you wear a crash helmet. If you are the driver, you must hold a licence which permits you to drive the two-wheeled motor vehicle under the laws of the country where you will be driving (if such a licence is required under the laws of that country). If you are the passenger, you must wear a crash helmet and you must have reasonable grounds to believe that the driver holds a licence to drive the two-wheeled motor vehicle under the laws of the country where you will be motor cycling (if such a licence is required under the laws of that country).

Important documents

Travel insurance is available for UK residents who are under 65 years of age. As with any insurance there are certain exclusions, including claims due to a medical condition or illness that was known about at the time of taking out your policy or booking your trip whichever is later. Cover is not provided for travel to or through Afghanistan, Cuba, Liberia and Sudan or areas where the Foreign and Commonwealth Office have advised against all but essential travel.
