Choosing the perfect pushchair

Remember when you're buying a pushchair you're buying for two! The little one who is always growing, plus the one doing the hard work pushing ? you! So, it's important that your choice suits both of you, not only now but in the future.

As your little one starts to grow, so will their travel requirements. The range of Britax pushchairs are compatible with the award- winning Britax BABY-SAFE infant carriers to form complete travel systems.

The Britax CLICK & GO® system means you can fit your infant carrier or carrycot directly onto the pushchair chassis for hassle-free travel. This makes it quick and easy to transfer your child from the car to the pushchair without disturbing them, or compromising on safety.

How to choose your perfect pushchair

There's so much choice when it comes to purchasing pushchairs, so how do you start?

Britax has pulled together the three most important things to think about when choosing your perfect pushchair, to help point you in the right direction:

  1. Identify your child's needs

Most parents will say that if their little one is happy, so are they! So, put yourself in their tiny shoes:

    • How old are they? Narrow down your choice with a pushchair that's for the right age
    • Would your little one be happier if they can see you? If so, go for a rear-facing seat unit option, or a carrycot which fits smoothly onto a pushchair chassis so they can slumber on uninterrupted
  2. Think about what works best for you

    • Think about the space that you have to store your pushchair. If you've got a small car boot or limited storage space at home, choose a compact pushchair that is easy to store away
    • If you've got two children consider a tandem travel system
    • If you have older children, a lightweight pushchair will make those longer walks to the park or the shops less tiring
  3. Think about your lifestyle

    • If you walk a lot, lockable/swivel and larger wheels will be lighter to manoeuvre on heavier ground
    • If you use public transport, think about the size and weight of the pushchair so it's easy to lift on and off of buses or trains
    • If you mainly travel by car, consider a travel system with a detachable infant carrier

Don't forget those all-important accessories such as rain covers and cosytoes to keep your child warm and dry
