MaxiNutrition® Cyclone Milk 330ml

GSK Consumer Healthcare is recalling all MaxiNutrition® Cyclone Milk 330ml product, in all flavours, from consumers and retailers within the UK & Ireland. The decision to recall has been taken following an investigation after the company received some complaints regarding the safety of the product.

In a small number of bottles, some of the creatine in the drink has recrystallised and may be found in the product.

The quality of their products and safety of consumers is of paramount importance to GSK Consumer Healthcare. The company is investigating all reported incidents and undertaking a comprehensive review of the product formulation in order to resolve the issue.

No other MaxiNutrition® products are affected by this action. This only applies to MaxiNutrition® Cyclone Milk 330ml, ready to drink strawberry and chocolate flavours.

We would ask that you kindly return any MaxiNutrition® Cyclone Milk 330ml to your local Boots store for a full refund.

Boots Pharmaceuticals Wound Cleansing Wipes

As part of our ongoing quality monitoring we have discovered that one batch of our Boots Pharmaceuticals Wound Cleansing wipes are not of the standard we would expect.

We've found that some of the wipes have dark marks on them that have been caused during the manufacturing process. We'd like to reassure you that our product testing has shown that the wipes remain sterile. However as they are not of the high standard we expect we're asking that you return the wipes to your nearest Boots store for a replacement or refund.

The batch affected is marked with 2114 and an expiry date (or EXP) of 05-2019. This information is printed on the bottom flap of the box and on the bottom of each of the sachets on the reverse face. No other batch or LOT of product is affected.

Due to a labelling error the manufacturer is withdrawing from sale the four batches of this baby food with the expiry dates shown above.

The jar incorrectly displays ?no added egg' and ?gluten free' in a tick box although both egg and wheat are correctly shown in the ingredient list.

This product is suitable for the majority of babies but the presence of egg and wheat make it unsuitable for babies who are allergic/intolerant to wheat or egg and therefore they should not consume this product.

We have received some important safety information from Tommee Tippee with regards to the above product.

Tommee Tippee Safety Information

For 50 years Tommee Tippee have been designing and manufacturing high quality baby products providing re-assurance to families around the world. Tommee Tippee would like to stress the importance of ensuring that the monitor is set-up correctly and that all cords are placed out of reach of your baby.

To ensure correct set up, consumers should make sure all monitor cords are out of reach of the child. If set up incorrectly, there is a risk that a child could pull the sensor pad cord into crib.

Subsequently, as an additional safety feature, Tommee Tippee are providing all customers with a protective cord cover. The cord covers can be obtained from Tommee Tippee directly, by their details below.

If set up correctly using the instructions provided, the Tommee Tippee Sensor Pad Monitor is not dangerous and is safe to use. It meets all the current safety standards and use of the monitor cord has never resulted in any reported incidents. Please do not be concerned - a correctly installed monitor poses no hazard to your baby.

However, child safety is paramount to Tommee Tippee, so as a precaution, and to minimise risk even further, they are supplying a cord cover kit free of charge to any customer who has bought one of these monitors via the contact methods below. Unilever, who manufacture the above products, have made us aware of a potential safety issue. Quality checks have revealed that a small number of Slimfast Meal Bars have been packed into incorrect boxes and therefore the allergen information on packs regarding peanut and gluten may not match the product.

Please check the writing on the inner wrap to check the variant description as seen below.

If the variant description on the wrapper is the same as on the outer box the product can be eaten as normal.

Following recent media coverage we felt that as a company, we needed to inform our customers that there has been a voluntary recall in the USA and Canada.

Following a few incidents, Angelcare would like to stress the importance of ensuring that the monitor is set-up correctly and that all cords are placed out of reach of your baby. Subsequently, as an additional precautionary measure Angelcare are providing all US and Canadian customers with a protective cord cover. The cord covers can be obtained from Angelcare directly, by their details below.

We fully understand that customers will be concerned about the safety of their baby and would like to reassure that all of the above Angelcare products meet European safety standards and therefore there is no recall in Europe.

We would like to reassure you that if you have installed your monitor according to the instructions, your Angelcare monitor should not pose a risk to your baby.

Please ensure that:

  1. The nursery unit is at least 3 feet (1 metre) away from your baby's cot
  2. The sensor pad cord is kept well out of reach of your baby, wrapped around the leg of your baby's cot and secured with cable ties

This cosmetic, bronzing effect product has been launched in the last 7 weeks and as a precautionary measure, St.Tropez has decided to initiate a voluntary recall of the product.

Whilst the number of customers experiencing inhalation issues is very small, we would like to invite any customers who have purchased the product to return it to their nearest Boots store for a full refund or exchange.

Plum wanted to let you know that some parents have recently told them about an issue with their Plum Baby Oaty Chomps bars - Pumpkin Pie variant. They've looked into this and found that a very small portion of one batch of bars has been affected by a common type of mould. So, as a precautionary measure, they've decided to withdraw all boxes of this product from the market immediately.

Plum believe this poses minimal health risk, however, because they take the safety and wellbeing of all our customers and their children very seriously they are taking this step.

BRITAX BABY-SAFE infant carriers

Due to a potential quality issue with a component, the handle of certain BRITAX BABY-SAFE infant carriers can be damaged or, in adverse circumstances, detach, if sudden force is applied to the handle. This may result in the infant carrier to swing, to separate, to fall to the ground or to arrive in other unsafe situations when carrying the product. This can pose a risk of injury to the occupying child especially if it is - against the user instruction - not harnessed. The defect may not be recognised by the consumers instantly.

We are asking consumers that have purchased one of the potentially affected products to stop using it with immediate effect.

Certain BABY-SAFE infant carriers that were sold in Europe between 1 February and 31 March 2012 are affected. If you purchased your product prior to 1 February or after 31 March 2012, your BABY-SAFE is not affected. Only a small number of potentially affected products are in use with consumers.

Please note, the recall only relates to the BABY-SAFE but NOT to the BABY-SAFE plus II or the BABY-SAFE plus SHR II.

The batch affected is 031G. The batch number may be found on the end of the carton or on the sealed (crimp) end of the tube. Some users may have a slight feeling of ?grittiness' when using Sensodyne Repair and Protect - this is normal. However, Batch 031G has been found to contain a number of larger particles of one of the ingredients used to make the toothpaste. These particles may scratch the gums when brushing the teeth which may cause the gums to bleed. Only a very small number of such cases have been reported. If you do experience bleeding from the gums after using this product, please contact the number below, or your dentist for further advice.

I'm writing to tell you about a potential problem with the above product, that our Advantage Card records show you've recently bought from us.

As a responsible retailer we routinely test our products to ensure they meet the high standard of quality and safety that our customers expect and deserve. As part of this we've discovered, in a very small number of cases, a potential issue with the Boots PVC Hot Water Bottle where the insides of the bottle are sticking together.

Please don't be alarmed as this is easily solved by slowly filling the hot water bottle with warm water in the first instance, to make sure the two sides come apart. You'll only need to do this on the first use as this will solve the problem. And don't forget, in the interests of safety, hot water bottles should never be filled with boiling water.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency have released a press statement asking customers who have bought Metatone Tonic (300ml) to return this to the store where they bought it. This is because Chefaro UK, the medicines' licence holder, have reported the presence of very small amounts of petrol in one particular batch of the medicine. At this time there is no evidence of any harm caused by this product The affected batch number is 112 and the product itself could smell of petrol.

We take the safety and wellbeing of all our customers very seriously at Boots. So because we know you've recently bought this product from us, we're asking that you check the bottle that you bought and if it is from the affected batch, to return this to us immediately, where we'll offer you a replacement or a refund. We know from our Advantage Card records that you have recently bought a Braun Activator shaver.

Braun has told us that due to an error, a small number of 8595 shaver boxes actually contained a Braun Activator 8585 shaver. In these cases, the boxes showed a picture of the 8595 shaver, which has an LCD display panel on the front. The 8585 model inside didn't match the picture, it has two charging indicator lights instead of the LCD panel.

If you bought one of these wrongly packaged shavers you won't have been overcharged - the affected boxes will have gone through our tills as the 8585 model, which is sold at £149.99.

However, we recognise that you may have intended to buy the Braun Activator 8595 shaver with the LCD panel. If you have one of the wrongly packaged shavers we'll be happy to exchange it for the correct 8595 model at no extra cost to you.

I am writing to tell you about a potential safety problem with the above products. Kenwood have discovered that in a very small number of handblenders, the blade in the blender shaft may crack or break in use. This means that metal parts can become detached, and enter food being prepared.

Kenwood have therefore recalled the products and advised retailers to stop selling them.

If you have a Kenwood handblender please follow the instructions below:

  1. Stop using your handblender and unplug it from the power supply.
  2. Unlock the removable blender shaft.
  3. Check the model number as shown in the diagram below..
  4. If your handblender has a model number in the range shown, call the Kenwood Freephone Helpline on 0808 156 3200 for further advice.

No other Kenwood products are affected.

I am writing to tell you about a potential safety problem with the above product. Nikon have discovered a mechanical fault in some cameras. This potential fault can result in overheating within the battery compartment. It is unlikely that this will cause injury to users, but the problem could cause irreversible damage to the camera.

The problem affects cameras within the serial number range below:

If you have a camera from the serial range above, please stop using it and remove any batteries. Please call 0800 018 8977 free, to order your replacement camera, which will be sent to you with a new warranty.

I am writing to tell you that the manufacturer has advised us of a potential safety problem with the Novasonic Pain Relief unit which you have purchased from us. In one batch of this product it is possible that, over time, the cover of the mains adaptor plug could come off, which could lead to the wires becoming exposed.

Because our customers' safety is extremely important to us, we are removing this batch from sale and also asking customers to return affected units to us. If your Novasonic Pain Relief unit has the following batch number, please stop using it immediately and return it to your nearest Boots store for replacement or a full refund.

To check the batch number, switch the power off at the mains before removing the mains adaptor plug from the socket. You will find the batch number on the pin side of the mains adaptor plug, above the screw hole next to the label. It is a four digit number engraved into the plastic.
