Changes to Child Trust Funds

On 24th May 2010 the Government announced that it intends to reduce and then stop all government contributions to Child Trust Funds.

New Child Trust Funds

In light of recent government announcements to end the Child Trust Funds (CTF) scheme, Boots are no longer offering CTFs.

We have outlined the announcements below to help you find out whether your baby qualifies for a CTF:

• Babies born before 1st August 2010 – your baby will be issued a £250 voucher from the government to open a CTF account.
• Babies born from 1st August to 31st December 2010 – your baby will be issued a £50 voucher from the government to open a CTF account.
• Babies born from 1st January 2011 onwards – your baby will not qualify for a CTF account.

If you have a CTF voucher for your child, you will find a list of current CTF providers and distributors at HMRC.
