Information & Advice
With all the dodging, hunting and heavy lifting, Christmas shopping should be an Olympic sport! Practical doesn't have to be boring, with these top beauty tips from the experts you can look chic and stylish with a look that's totally wearable. Grab a coffee with the girls and let's indulge in some serious retail therapy!
A light, sheer base is perfect for shopping, it illuminates and evens out the complexion, while remaining subtle - perfect if you're shopping for cosmetics and want to try before you buy!
While applying your blusher, be sure to smile as it accentuates the apples of your cheeks.
Enhance your natural glow with an illuminating BB cream. The finish is lightweight and breathable, perfect for busy bees! Define the cheekbones with a highlighter on the bone and a slightly darker face powder in the hollows of your cheeks. While applying your blusher, be sure to smile as it accentuates the apples of your cheeks and build the colour a little at a time to achieve a natural, flushed appearance.
Just because it's winter, doesn't mean you have to stick to dark colours! Mermaid colours like greens and blues are going to be huge in spring and are great for really making your eye colour "pop"!
Use a turquoise eye liner to line the upper eye lid, applying a soft, sheer eye shadow over the top in a similar hue. Finish with a lengthening mascara and illuminating under-eye concealer to brighten the complexion.
Sixties inspired make up is so striking, yet can easily be toned down for an everyday look. Soften the iconic Twiggy inspired eye look by using a fine eye shadow brush to apply a dark grey shade into the crease of the eye, over a light beige. Add a slick of liquid liner across the top eyelid and a few flicks to the lower lash line for added excitement!
Complement a fun and flirty eye look with a baby-doll pink lip. A lipstick with added moisturisers will make a statement while keeping your lips protected from harsh weather, while you're out shopping. Gloss sticks are great to keep in your handbag for touch ups, adding a hint of colour and subtle shine - handy after a re-energising latte with the shopping girls!
Sale shopping can be brutal, with the big crowds and sharp elbows it can feel like you're a clan of bargain-hunting warriors! With a chic and easy up-do you can look super stylish while keeping hair back from the face in a practical manner.
You can't hear "beehive" without thinking of classic, sixties glamour. Tease the roots of your hair and smooth the top layer over with a soft bristle brush. Pin into place with hair grips and add a diamante headband for some festive sparkle.
A Dalmatian print is a great, modern take on the classic polka dot. With this design, the key to perfection is imperfection, so even the nail art novice can have statement stems in no time.
After your base coat is dry, add two coats of white polish and allow to dry. Take a black nail art pen and squeeze gently to pipe irregular Dalmatian spots onto the nail. Getting right up to the cuticle and nail edge makes sure the design looks seamless and professional. Any blunders can be easily wiped away with a cotton bud soaked in nail polish remover, after the manicure is dry.
