GPS Tagging

As well as logging your position while shooting stills or videos, you can also use the Logger feature to keep a track of your travels. It even includes Map Utility software for easy navigation and online sharing.

20x Wide Angle Optical Zoom

The Canon SX260HS comes equipped with a huge 20x zoom range, including an equivalent 25mm Wide Angle setting for those group photos, indoor shots or stunning landscapes. At the other end of the scale the zoom range extends to an equivalent of 500mm focal length, longer than most DSLR setups offer. If that’s not enough then you can even use the ZoomPlus feature to extend the range to 39x with very little quality falloff.

Full HD Video Recording

Records movies in Full 1080p quality complete with optical zoom and stereo sound. To share your creations, Canon have included a HDMI port on the camera.

Intelligent IS

Imagine an Image Stabiliser that can detect what kind of picture you’re taking and how to best correct it… well this camera has it. With 7 different scene based IS settings, the stabilisation feature on the SX260 will provide sophisticated corrections.

HS System

A unified concept in many of Canon’s cameras, the High Speed System optimises sensitivity, IS and shutter settings for better performance in low light. There’s also High Speed Shooting which features high speed burst and Super Slow Motion Movie, all thanks to the processing power of the DIGIC 5 chip, the “brain” of the PowerShot SX260 HS.

Large, Robust LCD Monitor

Included is a 3.0” (7.5cm) PureColor II G Monitor with easy menu navigation and a tough, tempered outer glass layer to protect against bumps and scratches.

As Creative as You Want

Depending on your needs, this camera has 58-scene Smart Auto (or 21 for movies) to make all the setup decisions for you, or Manual and Priority Modes (Av and Tv) to allow you to tell the camera how your images should look.

Face ID

Tag your loved ones with this useful feature which includes age registering function which, for example takes 3 consecutive shots with kids playing and leaves the flash off when snapping a sleeping baby. Register up to 12 familiar faces for preferential focusing and tagging on playback.
