Model, actress, designer and presenter Kelly Brook, 29, reveals why she loves to be natural and her beauty secrets to staying young, fit and healthy


What’s your key to feeling good?

I think confidence is important. One of my idols, actress Sophia Loren, once said, ‘Nothing is more beautiful than the belief that you are.’ I try to remember that.


What are your beauty must-haves?

Lip gloss and nail polish in dark red and wine shades. I’m also obsessed with body scrubs. Soap & Glory's Spa Sugar Crush is great.


Which fragrances do you wear?

Fracas by Robert Piquet and Vivacious, my new fragrance. It’s sexy, fun, yet demure and sophisticated at the same time. I wanted it to reflect the way I live my life – and I always live it to the full.


Who are your beauty icons?

Anyone with a big bum and curves like me! Sophia Loren, Marilyn Monroe and Jennifer Lopez make me feel normal.


What’s the best piece of beauty advice you’ve ever been given?

Don’t over-pluck your eyebrows! I did it once and it looked too harsh. I think eyebrows are so important because they shape your whole face. I like mine to look a little more natural, so I freak out if a make-up artist approaches me with tweezers.


What’s your beauty no-no?

I don’t like very tanned skin. I think pale skin is so classic and beautiful, so I try to avoid the sun, and always use a sun cream. I’ve also had a few self tan disasters, so I tend to steer clear.


Do women give themselves a hard time about their looks and ageing?

I think society can, but I’m happy to age. I’ve never been tempted by cosmetic surgery. I like to look natural and don’t do Botox or use hair extensions. I am how my parents made me, and I’m grateful for that.


What’s the best piece of health advice you’ve ever been given?

To know what you’re putting in your body, and to avoid white sugar, even though I don’t always!


Do you work out?

I always lie about this! The truth is, no… but I tell my boyfriend [England rugby star Danny Cipriani] I do.


How do you relax?

Strangely enough, I like to do housework and gardening.
