Charlize Theron's Metallic Eyes

Master actress Charlize Theron's sultry metallic eyes.

Ms Theron knows a good look when she sees one, and she's obviously found her celebrity beauty style: metallic eyes and an apricot-nude lip. Luckily for us it's an easy look to master for summer.

Actress Charlize Theron may be versatile on screen, but when it comes to her red carpet style she sticks with what she knows. Fast becoming the Queen of metallic eye shadow, she's got the sultry eye look down to a t. We've spotted her on the red carpet sporting various sheeny shades, from stunning silvers to this bronzy-copper creation – which leaves her looking glam, summer-ready and bang on trend. "Metallics are such a strong story for this season's make up look," confirms Rachel Wood, Celebrity Make Up Artist for Benefit Cosmetics. "You can create an interesting, smoky feel with silvery or bronze tones which look great and don't feel as heavy for a summer evening as a traditional matt grey." We love Charlize's bronze eyes here, as it's such a flattering summer look, but you can mix it up with any metallic shade. "The reflective shimmering tones of gold look amazing on summer tanned skin too," notes Rachel. Swot up and get practising!

How to Get Charlize's Metallic Eyes

Benefit Lust Duster
  1. "Do your eyes first – this way if any of the shadow falls onto the cheeks, you won't ruin your foundation or blusher," says Rachel. "Try a peachy-beige cream based eye shadow as your base (we like Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow) and then press a loose shimmery powder pigment like Benefit Lust Duster in Big Daddy on top using a stiff brush."
  2. "Next, curl your eyelashes and add lots of mascara (we like Christian Dior Diorshow Mascara) to your top and bottom lashes. Line the inside of the eye with a metallic brown pencil eyeliner."
  3. "For your base, use a sheer natural matte foundation like Benefit Some Kinda Gorgeous – this will off set the metallic eye and make it pop; Charlize's skin looks clear and flawless but not heavy."
  4. "For blusher try a cream formula with a hint of sheen to complete the soft, summery effect (try Lancome Blush Subtil)."
