Advantage Card: Terms and conditions

General Advantage Card scheme conditions

  • The Advantage Card scheme (the ?Scheme?) and Advantage Card associated clubs and benefits are operated by Boots UK Limited, Nottingham, NG2 3AA (Boots). Please do not send correspondence to this address.
  • To get the latest Terms and Conditions or for general enquiries please call 0845 124 4545*, write to Boots Customer Care, PO Box 5300, Nottingham, NG90 1AA or check on www.boots.com.
  • Boots can cancel, withdraw or alter the scheme, including these Terms and Conditions, or any individual Advantage Card account, at any time.
  • All Advantage Cards including temporary cards belong to Boots.
  • The UK Advantage Card scheme is only valid in UK Boots stores and www.boots.com
  • We do not issue additional cards for the same account
  • If we identify that you hold two or more Advantage Card accounts, we may merge them into one account at our discretion.
  • Boots can take any action it considers appropriate if we have reason to believe that you are abusing the scheme or associated clubs and offers.
  • Use of additional offers and benefits associated with your Advantage Card account are subject to store network availability.
  • Boots will remove Advantage Card points from Advantage Card accounts that haven't been used for 3 years.

You must stop using your temporary Advantage card as soon as your permanent card arrives


Data protection

  • We will only share your details with companies in the Alliance Boots group and businesses that process Advantage Card information on our behalf (in the UK and abroad), for example to produce your Advantage Card and print our mailings. We will not disclose your data to any third parties unless we are required or permitted to do so by law (for example, law enforcement agencies). We will analyse your purchase history to provide you with relevant and personalised offers, information and advice. By providing your email address on this form you will automatically be registered on www.boots.com.

Temporary Advantage Card

  • A temporary Advantage Card can only be used to collect points. You must use your permanent Advantage Card to be able to spend the points that you have collected.
  • You must apply for your permanent Advantage Card within 12 months of first using your temporary Advantage Card, otherwise all points collected on your temporary card will be lost and no further points can be assigned to this card.

  • You must stop using your temporary Advantage Card as soon as your permanent card arrives
  • Temporary Advantage Cards cannot be used in the Advantage Card Extra Offers Kiosk.
  • Some offers are only available to permanent Advantage Card holders.
  • It's up to you to keep your temporary Advantage Card safe, photocopies will not be accepted.
  • If you lose your temporary Advantage Card before you apply for your permanent Advantage Card, the points collected will be lost.

Collecting Advantage Card points

  • The standard number of points you will collect are 4 Advantage Card points for every £1 you spend on qualifying purchases; however the number of points collected can vary, e.g. in Boots Opticians you will collect 1 point for every £1 spent. See in store, www.boots.com or our other ?third party? sites for details. In store, points will usually be added to your Advantage Card account at the time you buy products and services included in the Scheme.
  • If you forget your Advantage Card, please ask the cashier to validate your receipt. You will need to provide the validated receipt within 45 days of the transaction with your Advantage Card to be able to collect your points.
  • After shopping online on www.boots.com, your points will automatically be uploaded onto your Advantage Card account within 5 days of your products being dispatched.
  • After shopping online at other ?third party sites? e.g. Treat Street, points may take longer to be awarded, please check individual sites for details.
  • Points are not available on prescription items, infant milks (up to 6 months), gift vouchers/cards, postage stamps, Boots Hearingcare, Boots Insurance (excluding travel insurance) and Travel Services (excluding travel money). In addition, points are also not available on gift boxes and delivery charges for purchases made online.
  • During points events, both in store and online, existing points promotions will not be multiplied.
  • Online, points promotions may not be available or may vary. Check individual promotion details
  • Boots UK Limited reserves the right to withdraw points promotions/offers without notice.

Spending Advantage Card points

  • 1 point is worth 1 penny to spend on products in store and on-line at www.boots.com. We will not exchange Advantage Card points for cash and the offer is non-transferable.
  • Points cannot be spent on prescription items, infant milks (up to 6 months), gift vouchers/cards, postage stamps, mobile phone top-up cards, gift boxes, delivery charges, at our 'third party sites' including Treat Street and Boots Kitchen appliances, on Boots Opticians products and services, Boots Hearingcare or on Travel Services and Boots Insurance
  • You must have enough points to cover the cost of the item; you cannot make a part payment of points towards a product or service.
  • You will not qualify for points, extra points offers, or discounts that are related to our Parenting Club, More Treats for Over 60s or any other scheme offers/benefits, products or services when you pay with points.
  • We reserve the right to substitute or remove products and services available for points collection and redemption in store and online without notice.
  • Spending points may be subject to network availability in store or online
  • When spending points online at www.boots.com, at the checkout you cannot pay with a mix of points and money in one transaction. Each transaction must be made with either points or money.
  • Delivery costs can only be paid for with points if items in the transaction are being paid for with points and you have enough points to cover the full cost of delivery.
  • It is not currently possible to pay for an order on our mobile site with Advantage Card points

Advantage Card free delivery terms and conditions

  • If you pay for your Boots.com order with Advantage Card points and pay a delivery charge either with Advantage Card points or pounds, you will qualify for free standard home delivery on your second order within the next 24 hours.
  • If you are eligible, a message will be displayed on the order confirmation screen when you've placed your first order and the promotion time frame will begin when this page loads. Your second order must be placed using the same Boots.com account as the first order.
  • To qualify you must pay for your first order with Advantage Card points. On the second order, free delivery applies to standard home delivery service only; all other delivery services including BFPO and heavy/bulky orders are excluded.
  • Once you have qualified for the Advantage Card free delivery service on your second order, the promotion is no longer valid. This is still the case if this order is cancelled at a later stage.

Returning goods

  • If you return a product for refund, we will deduct the number of points collected from your Advantage Card account.
  • If a product you buy with points is faulty, please return it to any UK Boots store. If necessary we will re-credit your account with the right number of points. No cash refund will be given in these circumstances.

The NHS Organ Donor Scheme

  • Boots Organ Donor registration scheme is run in partnership with NHS Blood and Transplant.
  • If you have chosen to register as an organ donor you will be adding your name to the NHS Organ Donor Register. Joining through Boots also means we will print the Organ Donor symbol on the reverse of your Advantage Card and pass the relevant information by secure data transfer to NHS Blood and Transplant who will contact you to confirm your organ donation preference and add you details to the NHS Organ Donor Register. Please note: providing your date of birth is a requirement of NHS Blood and Transplant for the purpose of validation and data security, if you have not provided your date of birth and a UK address NHSBT will not be able to add your name to the organ donor register.
  • If you would like to register/remove yourself from the NHS Organ Donor Register at a later date, please contact 0300 123 23 23 or go to their website www.organdonation.nhs.uk/register and fill in the form asking to be registered/removed.
  • If you would like the symbol adding / removing from your Advantage Card at a later date please contact the Boots helpline 0845 124 4545*.

About the Boots Parenting Club and More Treats for Over 60s

  • Boots Parenting Club and More Treats for Over 60s are both free and open to UK residents who are members of the UK Advantage Card scheme.
  • By completing your due date/child's details or ticking the box in the More Treats for Over 60s section on the Advantage Card application form, you confirm that you would like to join Boots Parenting Club or sign up to More Treats for Over 60s.
  • If you want to join Parenting Club or sign up to More Treats for Over 60s you must consent to be mailed. By providing your contact details, you confirm you are happy for us to communicate with you by post, email or text message and this will over-ride any other mailing preferences.
  • We reserve the right to amend or withdraw Boots Parenting Club and/or More Treats for Over 60s and the associated benefits at any time and without notice. Partners may change at any time. For full terms and conditions see www.boots.com/AdvantageCard

More Treats for Over 60s

  • More Treats for Over 60s is exclusive to UK Advantage Card holders aged 60 or over.
  • To collect 10 points for every £1 you spend on Boots branded products every time you shop, you will need to be signed up for More Treats for Over 60s and have activated the 10 points offer on to your Advantage Card account in store using the coupon, which will be sent to you in your welcome pack.
  • You cannot collect 10 points for every £1 you spend on Boots branded products online at www.boots.com or from any of our third party sites.
  • Proof of age will be required at the time of activation, such as a driving license, bus pass or passport.
  • You must present your permanent Advantage Card each time you shop to receive the 10 points offer. The 10 points offer will not be awarded retrospectively.
  • Boots reserves the right to determine which products should be in this offer
  • 10 points offer excludes prescription items, infant milks (up to 6 months), gift vouchers/cards, Boots Opticians products and services, Boots Insurance and Travel Services and Professional discount cards.
  • During special storewide points events you will only collect 10 points for every £1 you spend on Boots branded products. For products and services on points promotions you will only receive the fixed number of points advertised. No additional points will be collected.
  • Members are also entitled to receive 25% off every pair of complete glasses, from any range, when spending £79 or more at Boots Opticians or D&A practices. Excluding purchases of frame or lens only, ready-made reading glasses, safety eyewear, non-prescription sunglasses. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with our Free Second Pair or ½ price frames offers
  • Members are also entitled to 15% discount at Boots Hearingcare on any hearing aid from the complete range; this cannot be used in conjunction with any other in-store, online or coupon offer. 15% discount cannot be rewarded retrospectively. No cash alternative is available. To claim 15% discount on our range of hearing aids at Boots Hearingcare you must present your Boots Advantage Card and proof of age such as a driving license, bus pass or passport.

Boots Parenting Club

  • Boots Parenting Club is exclusive to Advantage Card holders who are pregnant or have a child under 2 years of age.
  • To collect 10 points for every £1 you spend on baby products in the baby area every time you shop excluding infant milks (up to 6 months), you will need to be signed up to Boots Parenting Club and have activated the 10 points offer on your Advantage Card account using the coupon in store, which will be sent to you in your welcome pack.
  • You must present your permanent Advantage Card every time you shop to receive the 10 points offer. The points will not be awarded retrospectively.
  • Boots reserves the right to determine which products should be in this offer.
  • Additional offers and gifts all take the form of coupons to be redeemed in store or online and are subject to availability. Further conditions may apply to each offer, and these will be clearly explained on the coupon for each offer that is sent to you.
  • Parents with more than one child aged under 2 years old will only receive one set of communications and coupons at any one time.
  • During special storewide points events you will only collect 10 points for every £1 you spend on baby products in the baby area. For products and services on points promotions you will only receive the fixed number of points advertised. No additional points will be collected.
  • We reserve the right to stop sending the free Boots Parenting Club mailings and magazines if you do not continue to buy baby products.


Treat Street Terms & Conditions

  • Boots Treat Street is an online shopping portal which allows you to collect one Advantage Card point for every full £1 you spend when you shop online with around 100 other shops and service providers, some third party retailers will pay a one off 'bonus' payment of points instead. To collect points you need to have a Boots.com account and a permanent Advantage Card or an instant Advantage Card applied for online (sorry, temporary Advantage Cards picked up in store and Advantage Cards issued in the Republic of Ireland are not eligible). Apply online for an Advantage Card.
  • To collect points you must always begin your shopping journey at Treat Street. You can either log in at Boots.com and follow the links to Treat Street or go straight to Treat Street and log in there. You cannot collect points if you visit the other websites directly without first visiting Treat Street. Once you have arrived at the shop's website, you should complete your purchase before visiting other websites to ensure that we can award your points. If you are not logged in before you shop with participating stores we cannot track your shopping transactions and we will not be able to award points to your Advantage Card. To make sure you receive the points you collect with other retailers, we will apply a cookie to your account to track shopping journeys. If you disable cookies we will not be able to track your purchase and so will not be able to award your points.
  • You can collect points (subject to participating third party retailers own terms and conditions) on all transactions completed and paid for with participating shops when you shop via Treat Street. Points are not given on delivery charges, and some of the stores may have further exclusions. Some shops will pay a one off 'bounty' payment of points, rather than applying the standard rate of 1 point per £1. You should check the terms and conditions for on each third party retailer website for more information. We reserve the right to deduct points from your account in the case of returned purchases or transactions which are not completed.
  • When you shop with other retailers via Treat Street, please be aware that you are contracting directly with third party organisations. Boots is not responsible for products and services purchased from third party organisations or any other aspects relating to the content of their website, the third party's own terms and conditions will apply.
  • Points you collect on Treat Street will usually be credited to your Advantage Card account within 35 days of each online transaction. Some may take longer and this will be stated in the terms and conditions for each shop, so please read these before you make a purchase.
  • You can check the details of your points by visiting the 'My Treat Street account' page at Treat Street. It will usually take up to 5 days for your purchase to appear in your shopping history.
  • We reserve the right to deduct points from your account in the case of returned purchases or transactions which are not completed.
  • We will not share any information about where or when you shop with any other third party not connected with the Treat Street scheme. Some data may be held by a third party (Incentive Networks in the US) in order to allow us to operate Treat Street. We may share anonymous details of your shopping habits with those shops you have purchased from via Treat Street but we will not share your personal details. Please see the security and privacy section for more details about how we safeguard your personal data.
  • We're sorry but points cannot be spent in Boots Opticians, on www.boots.com, at Boots Hearingcare or at Boots Treat Street. In store points can't be spent on prescription items, infant milks (up to 6 months), gift vouchers/cards, postage stamps, mobile phone top-up cards, Travel Services and Boots Insurance.
  • These terms and conditions are in addition to those for Boots.com and the Advantage Card terms and conditions.
