Cosatto Hug Grp123 Car Seat Hipstar 2 5 1 1
anti-escape harness nightmare We bought the Hug Hipstar a few months ago and although I love the style and the look of the seat - I am not getting on at all with the anti-escape harness. Everything else about the seat is terrific - but the harness is so difficult to put on my 2-year old that I have now had to buy another car seat and we are giving this one to his grandparents as a spare. The problem with the harness is that: 1. It is very difficult to get the toddler's arms into it as the fit is so snug 2. The straps constantly get twisted and are next to impossible to untwist. 3. Once on, if my boy is wearing a winter coat the shoulder straps sit very low and are very tight on his shoulders (and he is extremely small). So any safety benefits of the anti-escape system are outweighed by the straps being constantly twisted. Not to mention the damage to my back from having to bend down for at least 5 minutes every time to get him into it. I would much rather have a traditional harness. And, after all that, one day I turned around to find that he had taken his arms out of the harness anyway! I would love this seat without the anti-escape harness and wish I hadn't bought it with.
