Early signs of pregnancy
If you think you might be pregnant, there are a few biological signs that could give you an indication that it's time to take a test.
If you're feeling worn out, this could be a sign of hormonal changes which take place when you're pregnant.
Your nipples may appear darker and your breasts may feel larger and tender, just as they might before your period.
Hormonal changes could leave you feeling easily upset and emotional with more unpredictable moods than usual.
Around the sixth week of pregnancy you may be experiencing nausea and/or vomiting, more commonly known as morning sickness.
Usually the first indication, a missed or very light period is a reliable clue that you could expecting.
If you're prone to hormonal headaches, these could become more frequent as your body goes through hormonal changes. These adjustments can make you feel faint or prone to spells of dizziness.
Urinating more frequently
Whether day or night, you could find yourself going to the loo more often. You may also experience constipation and/or bloating.
Vaginal discharge or spotting
Typically with no soreness or irritation, light spotting or increased discharge could be a pregnancy indicator.
Cravings & altered tastes
During early pregnancy, it is not uncommon to find you crave, or lose interest in, specific foods. Your sense of smell could also become more sensitive.
If you think you might be pregnant, it's best to visit your GP. You could also take a home pregnancy test. But remember, you could be experiencing none or only some of these symptoms and still be pregnant. Equally, you could be experiencing some of these symptoms where pregnancy is not the cause. Make sure you visit your doctor for clarity.
